#33 The digital strategy tool StrategyFrame®
In this article, you will gain insights into StrategyFrame®, our new strategy software. Oliver Kern is co-founder of StrategyFrame® and, as Chief Product and Learning Officer, is responsible for the content of our digital strategy tool, StrategyFrame®. He holds a degree in photographic engineering and a Kellogg-WHU Executive MBA.
Martin Kundt is a board member of Know How! AG, the leading provider of learning ecosystems from Stuttgart. He is responsible for the technical implementation of our digital strategy tool StrategyFrame®.
Learning processes in companies have to change massively these days. Learning is increasingly becoming a strategic task in a company and can be seen as a challenge to achieve new things in an ever shorter time.
Making StrategyFrame® as Software as a Service strategy simpleThe StrategyFrame® software provides a central location for everything you need for your strategy work. It is a digital helper along the workflow of end-to-end strategy development and strategy implementation. StrategyFrame® provides a source for all the resources that strategy makers need in an organization. In the second workflow step of the StrategyFrame® , the analysis, process steps and to-dos can be optimally mapped and retrieved.
What does workflow learning mean and what are the 5 moments of need?Workflow learning and the 5 moments of need are two sides of the same coin: workflow learning is known as 'performance support' or, more recently, as 'digital coach' or 'flow learning'. The 5 moments of need is a learning theory that describes how a person learns cognitively. There are 5 moments: A person can...
learn something new (New) Deepen knowledge (More) Apply knowledge (Apply) solve a problem (Solve) relearn something that was once learned (Change).
In the workplace, however, it is mainly about doing (Apply). Due to the rapid pace of our zeitgeist and change processes, learning methods have changed over the years. In the moment of doing, guidance is already needed. Employees no longer learn first at a seminar or course and then apply what they have learned.
Nowadays, learning processes in companies revolve around the moment of application. Solving problems and learning something new go hand in hand.
Thinking in terms of the 5 moments of need requires a complete rethink in terms of knowledge transfer and learning. Clear workflows must be defined in companies for this. The same applies to strategy processes.
AskDelphi - the digital learning ecosystem based on the 5-Moments-of-NeedAskDelphi is the platform we used to build the StrategyFrame®. The entire tool focuses very strongly on the action. What is relevant is the task, i.e. the context is set based on the problem and not on the existing knowledge.
The knowledge is only added to the action in the second step. The users themselves therefore decide how much additional knowledge they need to be able to carry out a task. Depending on the user's strategy level, learning can be faster or slower.
If, for example, a new employee is to be onboarded, he or she can click through the StrategyFrame® at will and, if necessary, make entries straight away. The difference to traditional training is that the user can decide for themselves how much knowledge they need to actually carry out a task based on their own previous knowledge.
The tool provides those responsible for strategy in the company with everything they need to manage strategy processes. AskDelphi has already been successfully used internationally and in various sectors for more than 7 years, e.g. at Bayer AG, Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe, Colgate, McKinsey and Meta.
The program makes knowledge applicable and imparts practical know-how with concrete instructions for action.
What technology is AskDelphi based on and how secure is the company data there?Microsoft Azure was used as a cloud service provider right from the start. The program is hosted in Western Europe in compliance with data protection regulations and no data flows elsewhere. This ensures legally compliant operation.
It was also ensured that the platform can be integrated very well into other Microsoft services and existing IT environments in companies through the use of Microsoft Cloud Services.
Simple and straightforward: Integration of the digital strategy tool into the company's IT environmentIndividual teams are integrated directly into the platform so that internal and external communication can be connected cleanly and seamlessly, which is usually done via Microsoft Teams.
Integration takes place conveniently via single sign-on, so that the platform can be used directly, even if you are an external user.
The StrategyFrame® can be used for strategy workshops and strategy analyses and enables the results to be presented and communicated (e.g. as a PDF) so that the strategy can also be put into practice.
In addition, the StrategyFrame® enables progress to be tracked and provides constant strategy impulses.
What are the technical aspects to consider if you are interested in the StrategyFrame®?The good news is: not much! The StrategyFrame® is a software-as-a-service solution. The only thing you need is a working online connection and an up-to-date Internet browser. The tool does the rest.
The mindset in the company is important. There should be an awareness that change will be implemented consistently and in line with a common approach. This means that a transformation also takes place in the employees - an organization should have this intention. StrategyFrame® is a digital strategy tool and a technical learning platform for the implementation of ideas. Strategy is not only invented, but employees are taken along on the journey. A motivated strategy team that has confidence in the company and the organization plays a key role in this.
