Detailed episode description:

The time has finally come! Our book "Hope is not a strategy" will be published on November 23, 2022. In this article you will find out why it is the somewhat different strategy book that has never been seen before in this form and why it is a must-have if you practice strategy or are interested in it.

Who is our book "Hope is not a strategy" intended for?

The book is intended for all those who

be interested in strategy do strategy think strategically want to act strategically.

It is aimed at people in corporations, medium-sized companies and even start-ups. Because the topic of strategy affects everyone.

What added value does the "Hope is not a strategy" book offer you?

It is particularly important to us to provide you with a book that you don't just read, but that you can put into practice straight away. You'll get a wealth of experience and practical knowledge from us, Christian and Jürgen. We have thought about how we can make strategy applicable for you without you losing the desire to actually implement it after reading.

"Hope is not a strategy" is not a theory book, but a workbook. Because implementation can only happen if you are prepared to work. The book makes it as easy as possible for you to get started with the topic of strategy and, in addition to the book, there is also an ingenious piece of software that makes the strategy process even easier and motivates you to implement it. But more on that in a moment.

The StrategyFrame - what exactly is it and how can it revolutionize your company?

Many CEOs and managing directors need a strategic framework. We have translated this into English and called it the StrategyFrame.

It gives you security and depicts strategy graphically so that you understand what strategy actually means.

The strategy process has three basic elements:

Strategy formulation Strategy implementation Evaluation of the results.

But what do the three points mean in practice? What questions can you ask yourself? Which topics need to be addressed when and how? The StrategyFrame brings the strategy process into a logically structured sequence. It is important to understand that it is not a linear process, which is often forgotten during implementation. The StrategyFrame allows you to keep reflecting on where you currently stand and whether deviations have occurred because the environment has changed.

The 8 steps of the StrategyFrame workflow

Specifically, the StrategyFrame workflow is divided into 8 steps:

Plan Analyze Focusing and making decisions as part of a strategy workshop Adapting the organization to the new model Strategy implementation:

Cascading (early involvement of those responsible who are relevant to the strategy process) Transforming (communicating the change to the organization, making the goals and exact transformation understandable and clear) Experiment (execution is always an experiment, as companies never operate alone in a market but are exposed to competition) Adjust (adapting to changes)

Our book helps you to establish routines in this workflow and not to fall into a kind of controlling of your strategy, but to adapt the steps sensibly along the way.

"Hope is not a strategy": workbook and source of inspiration

If there are important points in the book that you should work on specifically, guiding questions and enough space for writing will help you to implement and deepen the work process.

Developing a routine for your strategy is crucial. The book reminds you at the right time to ask your guiding questions so that you don't get bogged down.

The 8-step workflow is not linear, but you can delve into exactly the step that is relevant to you at the time.

The perfect complement to the book: the StrategyFrame software

The perfect complement to the book is the StrategyFrame software, which follows the workflow steps in the book. It provides you with supporting knowledge, illustrates the individual steps even more precisely and provides you with templates to fill in so that you can edit the StrategyFrame directly.

The digital platform offers you the opportunity to work on your strategy alone or in a team - without Excel or PowerPoint.

Hope is not a strategy - a look behind the scenes of writing a book

The book is 300 pages long. The deadlines set by the publisher really helped us to stay focused. Our goal was to be at a book fair. That's why we dedicated our summer this year to the book and spent nights finishing it, and we succeeded! We are very proud and happy about it. The English translation has already started and is due to be published in May 2023.

We would like to thank our publisher, our editor Patrick Ludwig and Eva Zimmermann, who translated our ideas into visuals using graphics. if you would like to get your hands on the book "Hope is not a strategy", youcanpre-order it nowhere.
